I have owned several EarFun audio products in the past including their earbuds and speakers so I figured I would give these headphones a try.

Unboxing/build quality:
Inside the box you will find the headphones which are plastic wrapped, a USB C cable and owners manual. I was surprised to find these headphones don’t come with a case. A case would’ve been nice to keep these headphones protected when I am not wearing them. I have heard the EarFun Wave Pro does come with a case but from what I can gather is that these headphones are more of a budget friendly set of headphones. The headphones themselves seem to be very well designed and built with the construction being made out of mostly plastic with a metal band that’s wrapped in pleather and the ear cups are on metal swivels and rubber buttons. On the right ear cup you will find the rubber buttons that control the Active Noise Canceling as well as plus and minus buttons with a multifunction button in between the plus and minus buttons as well as the USB C port however, I was disappointed to find there was no 3.5 mm port. On both earcups you will see the four mics which work well with the active noise canceling as well as making phone calls which seemed to be pretty clear. The headphones are very comfortable and I never experienced any fatigue wearing them for long periods.

App features:
If you own any other EarFun product and have used the app then you should be familiar with the app. When you open the EarFun app you should be prompted to connect the headphones to the app in which you will be able to control the ANC, adjust EQ settings, select game mode which lowers the latency on the headphones, make any changes to the controls (which by default on these headphones is - which lowers your volume with a short press, a long press controls previous track, the multifunction button which controls play, pause and answer calls and the plus button which is volume up on short press, long press is next track.), dual device connection, voice prompt setting, automatic shutdown settings, as well as your owners guide and, firmware version and updates. The app is very easy to navigate and make adjustments to your headphones.

ANC:
These headphones have four different ANC settings (normal, ambient, wind noise cancellation, noise cancelling) all three ANC features seem to work perfectly fine wind noise cancellation seems to work well in the windy conditions we have had here recently, outside noise with ambient sound brings in sounds as it should and everything sounds natural, noise cancellation works well too.

Sound quality:
Out of the box when I first started listening to music I wasn’t a fan of the sound signature, they were very bass heavy with a lack of detail in the mids and the highs were very muffled and recessed to me. Luckily EarFun has an app to adjust the sound to your liking however when you start adjusting your EQ settings you will notice a decrease of the volume levels on the headphones. I was able to adjust the EQ settings so there was clearer vocals and the mids were better and reduced the lower bass and increased the upper bass. (See pics.)

These headphones are all around pretty solid. They're very comfortable to wear and have longer ear spots which makes them comfortable even when wearing earrings. They do get a bit warmer than some other headphones, so I've noticed I get a bit sweaty where they touch my face, but it isn't awful. They're also small enough to actually fit me and can expand to fit my husband!

The sound quality on these is pretty awesome! The noise cancelling feature blocks out pretty much all noise, so I can only hear if someone is talking loudly right next to me. On the opposite end, I can hear my surroundings pretty clearly, even with music playing pretty loud, if I turn off NC which is nice for using them at work. For the last few years, I've been using MPOW ANC headphones at work, various different models over the years, and have put them through the mill. I own a few other brands of ANC over ears as well. I ordered these to replace my aging MPOW H12's that have served me well in my day to day work activities. The claims that these have above average ANC for less than $100 haven't tried budget ANC cans in a while. These are great, don't let my review so far discourage you. When I first tried these Earfun wave life cans on, I was not impressed because the hype wasn't there. The ANC works well, but not any better than similarly priced headphones. The sound quality is fine, but as an audiophile would say, these are "Fun", meaning the mids are scooped following an eccentric Harman curve. They sound great to the average person. Where these become a great value is the app control. In the app, you have greater control over the function of the headphones as well as programming buttons and setting EQ. That really makes a difference to me. Build quality is no different though than a set of cheap $19 ANC over ear cans I got a few months ago. Not to say it's bad, because they hold up well and are comfortable. They also upgraded the hinge to metal over plastic. Although it is a metal hinge going into plastic. Over time I expect these to break at that point, but by then these will have seen some stuff. I usually get a year or two of daily abuse out of these style. Good stuff for $50-$60.

I gotta note that these do not have a 3.5mm port for analog connections, but they do work with the USBC to USBC cord provided to not only charge, but provide audio through USBC devices. Show Full Review
